记者:SAP对于Business Objects的收购行为的目的是什么?
Keith:BO公司和SAP公司做出这样的决定主要是受两个关键性因素的影响。
首先,这样做是符合SAP公司本身的2010年商务业务三个关键性的战略性决定的。随着开始的商业流程平台和面向中小型企业措施的成功,并购BO公司,给SAP公司带来了一个机会,能力和带宽的加深,使SAP公司向前迈出了重要一步。在发展中无与伦比的在商业用户中推动进一步的成功
第二个因素是:SAP公司和BO公司相信随着嵌入式分析过程中的应用,客户将获得极大的商业利益和相结合创新性产品的企业范围内的商业智能解决方案。另外,联合合作伙伴的整个生态系统将得到加强,通过整合业界最强大的业务流程平台,为客户提供最好的企业信息化管理平台,都可用SAP和非SAP环境。

记者:Business Objects认为和SAP的联姻将在哪些方面促进下一步的战略实施?

记者:收购结束后,Business Objects在中国的市场策略会发生哪些改变?尤其是如何与SAP中国团队协作开拓中国市场?
Keith:关于详细的产品上的结合和市场的销售将会在交易结束后出台一个详尽的规则来说明这个事情。

记者:我们知道,Business Objects在中国一直非常重视与高校的合作,坚持从教育入手在中国普及商务智能,此举也得到了大众的好评,那么SAP收购后,在这方面会有所改变吗?

Ask:What is the intention of SAP for purchasing Business Objects?

Answer:They are two key factors that had strongly influenced the decision made by both Business Objects and SAP.

First key factor – In line with the three key strategic directions of SAP for its 2010 business:
With the success of both the Business Process Platform initiative and the Small and Medium Enterprise initiative, the acquisition of Business Objects gives SAP the opportunity, capacity and bandwidth to make a significant step forward in developing an unmatched offering to drive further success in the Business User initiative.

Second key factor – SAP and Business Objects believe that customers will gain significant business benefits through the combination of innovative offerings of enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions along with embedded analytics in process applications. Additionally, the joint partner ecosystems will be enhanced through integration with the industry’s most powerful business process platform, providing customers with the best enterprise information management platform available in both SAP and non-SAP environments.


Ask:After the purchase, will brand products of Business Objects remain distinguish as before or will they be affiliated with those of the SAP?

Answer:We believe that by combining with SAP, we will not only continue our independent strategy, but also amplify the presence of the Business Objects brand promise worldwide.

Business Objects will remain the number one provider of Business Intelligence solutions that are independent from any given technology. This deal will amplify our access to the SAP ERP software environment. It will improve the way our products interact with it, provide features and functions enhancements, and deliver superior performance, reliability and security.

Ask:What aspects of the up-coming strategy does Business Objects reckon will be influenced due to the purchase and combination?

Answer:We believe that by combining with SAP, we will not only continue our independent strategy, but also amplify the presence of the Business Objects brand promise worldwide. Business Objects will carry forward our strategy of offering a solution that is platform-independent, that can serve all types of customers regardless of their infrastructure, and that can connect to all types of applications, and that can provide a consolidated view of data across sources. We believe the time has come to execute on that strategy with a strong partner that will boost our capability to deliver on that promise, and can help us to bring performance analytics into operational and applications systems.


Ask:What China market strategy will become due to the purchase? Especially in coordinating with SAP in expanding China market?

Answer:Detailed joint product and market roadmaps will be available as regulatory approvals are obtained and the transaction closes.


Ask:As it is known, Business Objects has been emphasizing cooperation with higher education in China and popularizing business intelligence by the approach of education. Accordingly, it is highly praised for this strategy. Will this be modified after the purchase?

Answer:Business Objects will operate as a stand-alone business as part of the SAP Group. We will continue our independent strategy.

Because we are going to operate as separate business unit, the way we go to market and execute our various programs – including our Academic Initiative Program – will not substantially change.
